Wine Merchant of the Year 2024 in the “Online Retail” category is
Lutz Heimrich – Superiore.de, Coswig/Dresden.
Today, Superpiore.de can rightly call itself one of the leading European Internet/mail order retailers specializing in Italian wines from the premium range. Founded in 2002, the company under the management of owner Lutz Heimrich took on the challenges presented by the new online retail format. Like many others, he invested in software, developed the store concept and was one of the pioneers in this field.
In 2009, the company moved into a 130-year-old industrial building that had been completely renovated and now offers ideal storage facilities for around 3,500 wines from the available range of over 350 winegrowers.
The company’s mission statement is based on sustainable principles in every respect, from cooperation with suppliers, storage, handling and shipping of the wines to pricing and customer information.
The proportion of wines from organic/biodynamic or Demeter-certified cultivation is now over 17 percent, which is higher than the proportion of organic wine in the winegrowing sector.
“The SUPRERIORE.DE brand stands for clarity, truth, expertise and customer focus,” says Lutz Heimrich, defining his company’s mission statement.
The shipping performance peaks at 3,000 bottles per day in the premium segment and with customers in 26 countries. Superiore.de generated more than 50 percent of its sales with wines in the price groups above 20 euros.
Superiore.de is clearly one of Europe’s leading online retailers of Italian premium wines. We are delighted to present Superiore.de with the Fair Wine Award Wine Retailer of the Year certificate in the “Online Retailer” category.
